Hackers!

It seems like so many blogs have been hacked. I am receiving 25 posts at a time about penis enhancement, weight loss, cute wardrobe changes.....from blogs that are long dormant, in my blog roll. Anyone else having this problem?

I read you often, Annette, and sometimes repost your post to my Facebook page, Emotional Sobriety. I always include you as the source.
I never get hacked because I use wordpress.com. I used to have my own self-hosted at wordpress.org but switched because so many developers help keep wordpress.com solid. I sometimes get an honest comment from a suspicious website but, if the content is genuine, I keep the comment.
I have 30+ blogs and on my main blog, kathyberman.com, wordpress has caught over 540,000 spam. I need the protection of wordpress to stay sane.

Same problem here and I have deleted the blog in my reader but it is still showing up. I don't know what to do either.

I don't know about the "advertisements" that you are receiving but as for me, my blog has also been silent for a long time, without any traffic or comments. I wonder why that's happening.

My blog got somehow set to private. I can see it just fine, but no one else can. When I go into my dashboard, everything is set correctly. I don't know how to fix it short of just starting over...and I don't want to do that. Sigh!

Wordpress is a pain in many ways, but it is awesome because I don't have to deal with spam. Overall, having had blogs on blogger and on wordpress, I would choose wordpress any day of the week.

p.s., you wouldn't need comment moderation!

I don't have the problem - but I use Wordpress, so that's probably different. Good luck with it though. I hope there is a solution for you!

I have not had that problem. But I am new to blogging and still trying to learn all about it. I hope to catch on but I certainly hope I don't get the whole penis enlargement etc. LOL :) Echo
