This has been the most awful week filled with frustrations and inconveniences. Nothing life threatening just lots of problems of a mechanical nature.
Between all of us in this house we have 6 cars.....H had a wreck a couple weeks ago so her car isn't working. My car needed some new switch which D fixed within a day or two for 30.00 (my hero,) Molly's little bug had some kind of trouble and D figured out it needed a new gas cap...hopefully that does it, 15.00 (my hero again,) D's car's brakes went completely out while Molly was driving it. She proved how smart she is and knew exactly what to do (I was following behind her....we just happened to hit the neighborhood at the same time) ....put your hazard lights on, downshift and use the transmission to slow you down. D thinks its either the master cylinder or calipers....whatever that is. So I got stuck driving our old Subaru which is a back up car...and it was all of a sudden lurching and then gaining power and bolting forward, dying at stop lights. I was so mad. So we have to figure that out. It had a tuneup about 5,000 miles ago.
All of that on top of our one and only snow storm hitting mid break down, Molly moving to the ghetto on Sunday, and I have had a bad week....I have been mad, frustrated, overwhelmed with working out schedules with no cars, my hero and I have exchanged heated words several times...which really upsets me. I don't like it when there is awfulness between us. We are fine now...just sat and had coffee together and shared a big long hug.
On a sweet note....big brother was just over telling me about g-ma's cat Sasha. When g-ma died everyone was wondering what to do with 12 year old Sasha. She was a weird cat having only lived in doors with one little old lady. She would hide and slink around whenever we came in to visit. Big brother said he would take her.
You have to know this about big brother....he is about 6'2, tatted, bald (by choice,) in amazing physical condition, and was big into cage fighting for a long time. Yeah....another proud mom moment.
So he took the cat and has built quite a relationship with that old girl. He buys her special food in only sea food flavors because those are her "favorite." The other day I saw him walking into his little apt carrying a new cat bed for her. He said she she climbs up on his bed at night and sleeps curled up right next to him, and if he calls her over to his lap and talks to her, she climbs up there and meows back and talks to him. He is moving mid-month...their house just closed and he is taking her with him.
I know my mom is happy. One of her biggest concerns was who would take Sasha.
Today I have my nice car back and will be gone all day until late tonight....and I am ok with that!
Praying for peace that surpasses all understanding for all of us!
Annette

Awww, I love the thought of your big tough guy son with a cat. When a guy likes a cat it means he has a sensitive heart. Its pretty easy to like a dog, but cats can be another story (I have 4 cats, 2 dogs!).
Sorry you had such an icky week! Car trouble STINKS! But it sounds like things are back to "normal", lets hope so :)
Your brother sounds like he has a great heart to take the cat and love her. Good for him. Hope that the weekend will be good for you, Annette.
It just goes to show it is still true you can't judge a book by its cover.
Sweet.
Annette- Wow, sounds like your plate has been more than full. Don't you ever amaze yourself that you get through to the other side? You have that something special to perserve no matter what. It's truly one of the best gifts to possess. xo
Our snippy, stuck up cat just loved Andrew. She misses him.
Cars suck. I would love to have public transportation. It won't happen in my lifetime though.
Thank God we have husbands who can fix things!!
I hate when there are frustrating times like that. It seems as though you weathered the storms, well, though. On to bigger and better things, right? :)
Seems like when one thing breaks down they all do! Years ago I will never forget when my dads oven conked out on them, so as they were ordering a replacement their fridge leaked all over the kitchen and had konked out as well. Only 2wks later their dishwasher did the same thing. They look back on it now and laugh cause they got a "new kitchen" in one month, not by choice though! LOL
Hope this coming week is MUCH better :)
