Today I was almost killed on the freeway....at least that is how it felt. I do not have road rage. Ever. Getting stuck behind someone slow just really doesn't bother me. I feel like I will get there when I get there and I have a few extra minutes to listen to my book and use the excuse..."Sorry, stuck in traffic."
However, today, in my near death experience, I screamed Mother F*&%#! at a kid who appeared to be 19-22ish. I *never* use that term. I don't even like "the F-word." It is so rare for me to use that word....it has to be a really needed word in any given situation for that to come out of my mouth...or through my keyboard.
If all of the above isn't enough to shock you....he flipped me off, and then I flipped him off! OMG!
This just showed me that given the right circumstances we are all capable of anything.
And yes, me almost being killed on the freeway was all HIS fault!
Annette
PS: I am still praying for our kids....after I apologize for having a potty mouth and getting so mad/scared. Did you all know that anger is a secondary feeling and often fear is the initial feeling that leads to anger? Yep, that's my story and I'm sticking to it.

I sure have been there before seeing i choose to ride a motorcycle for my primary mode of transportation. ive had some close calls with people not paying attention and some entirely my fault. yes anger is definitely a response to fear. one time i was torn between being really mad for them not paying attention and for being thankful that they noticed in the last second and went skidding of the road to avoid killing me. well im glad you are still around to write about it.
I'm glad you're okay. I understand what you wrote, though. Have been there, myself (sad to say).
Glad you didn't get hurt. You are right, under the right circumstances we are all capable of anything. You are also right that anger is usually in relation to fear. A woman who is smart and has occasional potty mouth...my kind of gal!
Oh, Annette! Glad you are ok.
...And I was shocked to hear you use such language! just kidding ;-D
what kind of car was he driving? Molly and I will kick his butt!
THANK GOD YOU'RE OKAY!!!!
GEEZ!!!! Well, you make a good point about we are all capable of doing what we would normally never do under certain circumstances. What a little jerk for flipping you off, I'm glad you flipped him back! You stood your ground.
Yep, I did know that about anger and fear and remind myself of it when certain people in my life seem really angry (including me).
P.S. If Lou and Molly kick his butt, I want to watch and cheer them on.
I will pay to see Lou and Molly work him over. I saw a lady scream at some person trying to get into another lane. She was in a Suburban, pulled up beside him and started yelling and screaming. Unmanageability anyone? There are crazy people on the roads (not you, Annette).
