45 years ago today......

I was born!

Yep, today is my big day and it has been a nice one. My mom took our family out to breakfast, then D and I came home and worked on my chicken coop so now my chickens are truly free range chickens with lots of sunshine and room to roam but still be safe from natural intruders like foxes, raccoons, coyote and mountain lions.

I opened some gifts....a beautiful resin plaque of the ABC's of life, a wind chime that plays Pachelbel Canon in D, and a necklace with a bird, fresh water pearl, gold ring and a little tag that says "soar." Not to mention some luscious scented body butter, scrub and shower gel from some friends last night.

Then I spent some time relaxing.

Then my 2 older girls, my mom and I, all went to see My Sister's Keeper. Not a great choice for me right now, and the book was better, but still it was nice to have the three generations together and watch the girls be patient and helpful with their g-ma. She is always good for a laugh because she couldn't keep up with the movie and in a loud voice that she thought was a whisper she would ask questions or comment. All we could do was laugh while we cried.

On the drive home H was in the backseat and asked if a skunk had died on that corner. G-ma pipes up with "what about that guy? He's always standing on that corner?" We explained what was really said, and she laughed and said, "Oh it so fun to not be able to hear anything. It opens up whole new conversations."

So fun was had by all.

We laughed a lot, the sister's seem to be bonding and healing...good stuff. I am grateful for the life I have.
